1. What do you do outside of the gym? Career, hobbies, etc.?
I’m a Registered Nurse and have been a nurse for almost 12 years. I spent 8 years in the ICU and now work in the PACU at Sovah Health Danville. I truly love what I do. Outside of work, life revolves around my 3-year-old son. I’m usually chasing him around or soaking up time with my husband and family. We love being outside whenever we can, whether that’s playing, working cattle, relaxing, or just enjoying time together.
2. How long have you been training with us?
I’ve been a member at Old 97 since 2023, but I’ve been doing CrossFit since around 2017. It’s been such a big part of my life for years now, and finding this gym has made me love it even more.
3. What’s been your biggest accomplishment since you began training with us?
Honestly, my biggest accomplishment has been getting my mom to join! Seeing her show up consistently, get stronger, and hit PRs has been the most rewarding thing. It’s such a special feeling to share something I love with her and watch her grow in it.
4. What’s your favorite thing about being a member here?
The community, hands down. From day one, I’ve always felt welcomed and supported. It’s such a positive environment, and everyone genuinely wants to see each other succeed. I also love the flexibility of the class schedule. Between life and work my schedule can be unpredictable, but having so many options makes it easy to stay consistent.
5. What would you say to someone who is considering training with us?
Walking through the door is the hardest part—but once you do, you’ll be hooked. There’s something really special about being surrounded by people who are all working to better themselves. No matter your fitness level, you’ll feel supported, challenged, and encouraged every step of the way.
