1. What do you do outside of the gym? Career, hobbies, etc.!
I’ve worked at the Goodyear plant for 19years. I’m married and have 2 dogs and 2 cats. I like flying drones, walking fast in 5k events, and grilling.
2. How long have you been training with us?
3 months
3. What's been your biggest accomplishment since you began training with us?
I’ve been fairly active my entire life but I’ve been struggling with back issues for last several years. I was at the point where I couldn’t lift anything over 20lbs without help and even walking long periods was becoming a struggle. The biggest milestone for me is being able to lift a 50lb bag of dog food without needing assistance from anyone.
4. What's your favorite thing about being a member here?
The support!! Not only has the coaches been supportive but I’ve met some pretty awesome members who have helped motivate me along my journey. I have to give a big shout out to Dave Cumbo for encouraging me to sign up.
5. What would you say to someone who is considering training with us?
I would tell them that giving Old 97 CrossFit a try was the best decision I’ve made. I was hesitant about trying CrossFit because I’ve heard how hard it can be on your body. I explained the concerns about my back to Josh and he’s helped me with scaling options to focus on the proper techniques that I needed to strengthen the muscles I use every day. And I tell you that I have hurt less in the last couple of months than I have in years. Not only have I gotten my strength back but I finally see the old me in the mirror again.
