December Member of the Month Interview: Shrikant Jindam


1. What do you do outside of the gym? Career, hobbies, etc.!

Playing pickleball & ping pong. Before CrossFit, I used to play badminton.

My job sometimes allows me to travel around the Americas where I make sure to hit a CrossFit box near my stay. Last one was in Brazil and it was a blast.


2. How long have you been training with us?

Umm, forever! Since the ribbon cutting ceremony - inauguration.


3. What's been your biggest accomplishment since you began training with us?

Learning the right techniques and movements, which weren't there in past. Having the right form to lift without an injury. Oh I wish I got this training when I was lifting weights in my college years.. oh never mind.. I am doing it now. Reaching for 500 on deadlift… ;-) just because I was told to try the hook grip and thats a game changer.. improved grip for the deadlift and other movements. Also, I have been able to mobilize my shoulder far better than before, though still a work in progress.


4. What's your favorite thing about being a member here?

Best camaraderie & support between our members in the gym. I just love to start my day with a positive vibe or if I miss my morning class, I am sure to attend in the evening. Coaches take the individual person into account and rather than just a "workout and done." If any change in the workout plan is needed, they do suggest options.


5. What would you say to someone who is considering training with us?

Oh dear, 2nd thought.. nope.. Not to worry… anyone new to CrossFit will be well taken care of by an experienced qualified-certified coach and the members in the gym. Personalized workout plans can be tailored to individual goals thanks to the care given in classes. Also there is yoga too on certain days of the week. If one wants to work on nutrition, there will be guidance from our very own nutrition coaches. Rest assured, you will and won’t be doing anything which is out of your capabilities. Yes, if one has a plan of staying healthy and being fit... Nothing is impossible! Try out a complimentary class and you will get to experience the vibe we have in our small box-community.

All workouts are programmed around safety of members. O97 is a well maintained facility which enables one to be comfortable and stay positive in the workout environment.
