1. What do you do outside of the gym? Career, hobbies, etc.!
I serve as the Women's Counselor and Worship Leader at my local church, Mount Hermon Baptist. I love serving in ministry alongside my husband, Cody, who is the Kids & Student Pastor at our church. On the weekends I enjoy playing tennis or disc golf with our friends and family.
2. How long have you been training with us?
Almost 7 months. Whoo hoo!
3. What's been your biggest accomplishment since you began training with us?
I hit a new PR for my deadlift at 292! Hoping to join the 300 club this year!
4. What's your favorite thing about being a member here?
There is something to be said about working hard towards a goal and looking beside you to see a friend fighting for that same goal with you. You are in it for the long-haul together. Crossfit has a unique way of connecting you with others in a short period of time. I've only been at Old 97 for half a year and it feels so much longer because of the relationships I have built. People from all different backgrounds, ages, and different interests who come together and are friends. That is something that you don't get at a regular gym. That is special.
5. What would you say to someone who is considering training with us?
In almost 7 months of being a member at River City Fitness, I have already worked out more than I ever did in the 2 years of having a membership at a regular gym since moving to Danville. Showing up to workout by yourself is hard. It just is. But showing up to a room full of people that will text you if you aren't there...that will definitely help you stay motivated. That is what I needed to stay on track and maybe that's you. Come give it a try.
